Mr James Allan is a hugely experienced Consultant Urologist with over 20 years’ experience as an NHS consultant in Suffolk at BMI St Edmunds and St Thomas Hospital in London.
He joined Midtown Clinic with his colleague Mr Paul Hughes whilst continuing to provide his services at St Thomas Hospital in London and at the GHA in Gibraltar.
After leaving Rugby School. Mr Allan studied medicine at St Thomas`s Hospital in London, qualifying in 1989.
He studied for a Neuroscience Master of Surgery thesis in the management of chronic genitourinary pain at St Thomas`s Hospital, working with the world acclaimed neuroscientist Pat Wall, FRS.
He then trained at St Thomas’s as a consultant urologist and qualified in 1999. He is one of a handful of urologists in the UK to have been awarded both a British and World Fellowship in endourology, stone surgery and laparoscopic urology.
He was sponsored by The British Association of Urologists to work at the Cleveland Clinic in the USA, regarded by many the best urological hospital in the world.
